How many times have you been left defeated when it comes to posting captions/content because you have no idea what to say? If so, you are in the right spot, and I and promise you are not the only one feeling this! I struggled soooo hard in 2019/the beginning of 2020. Throughout last year I finally started to feel like I “got it”.
3 Ways to Kick Writers Block in Your Captions
Here are 3 things that have helped me get through my writer’s block.
1. Pick who you want to speak to in this post. Is it the everyday person? Yourself? Couples planning their wedding? Families? Creatives? Other Photographers? Others in the same industry as you? Figure out who you want to speak to first
2. How do you want to serve them? Need some motivation? Helpful tips? What to expect when planning a wedding? How to coordinate family outfits? Tips to help make the session comfortable? Even as a beginner you have SOOO much insight to help others. Don’t think you have to be doing photography for X years in order to provide value. YOU have value, even if it’s your first day with your camera.
3. Get out of your own head. Write like you are the only one in the room and stop second-guessing if your content is “valuable” or not. I started viewing this platform as my journal and I was the only one talking to it. Anything you provide is better than leaving that post in draft mode for weeks on end.
